About Leadership Development Centre
The Leadership Development Centre Limited although launched from Technology House, a business incubation unit on The University of Salford's Campus, we are an Independent Training Provider who specialise in security training for Btec's required for SIA Licensable Activities to include, Door Supervision, Physical Intervention, CCTV PSS, Retail & Manned Guarding and Close Protection Operations at Level 3. Also Conflict Management & Physical Intervention skills training for College and Hospital staff at risk from assault!
Formed in 2003, we are now one of Edexcel's largest Centres for the above qualifications and also deliver Trainer Training for Conflict Management, The New Physical Intervention requirement for Door Supervision Trainers, Learning & Development from NVQ Level 3 to Level 5 and a host of other industry related NVQs such as Customer Service, Event Safety and Passenger Transport at Levels 2 & 3 which can all attract LSC/Train 2 Gain funding. We have a strong background in pub & club management and also deliver the full suite of BIIAB qualifications. All of our trainers have at least 10 years and in most cases in excess of 20 years industry related experience.
Over the last couple of academic years we have delivered in excess of 3000 level 2 & 3 NVQs in Partnership with Salford College, Hopwood Hall College and Start Training in Manchester and are currently working with Wigan & Leigh College, Wigan Local Authority and Connexions on a bespoke designed programme for NEET candidates. Molly Prince - Managing Director: Leadership Development Centre Limited & Close Protection UK
As Company owner and Managing Director since March 03 I have designed, delivered & coordinated SIA approved training to in excess of 20,000 door supervisors, 5500 Security Operations Staff including Vehicle Immobilisers and CCTV & Close Protection SIA Licensed staff. LDC are one of the biggest National and leading national security training providers. I am the lead trainer for Security Screening & Vetting BS7858 which we deliver nationally to other security service providers.
I am also sole owner of Close Protection UK formed in 2005, which this year achieved SIA ACS, Approved Contractors Scheme, with the 3rd highest audit score nationally. We specialise in Security Staff provision & Management to include, CCTV (PSS), Building Management Concierge, retail, stadium, close protection, overt/covert surveillance, risk assessments, Event Management and Protection, Door Supervision and chauffeuring. All our operational staff are trained and operate above the required SIA standard, all supervisors are trained to L3 or above with first aid training, all operational staff have physical intervention (non pain compliant holding and disengagement) and together with my training director we deliver trainer training for PI Skills nationally to a high % of operational security companies on a national basis.
CPUK & LDC are very community orientated and sponsor two children's football teams and a Judo club in Salford. I have extensive business links in and around London and are in the process of setting up a centre of excellence at Leyton Orient. My Companies are currently working with and can supply references from borough councils to include Bolton & Wigan, and a host of college partners. We are also currently developing Neet/Apprenticeship programmes in Wigan funded through Communities & Local Government, Working neighbourhoods fund and anticipate 80% job outcomes for our young trainees in Wigan facilitated by CPUK.
Our Provision has been scrutinised by the Learning Skills Council and I was awarded a National Training Award in Nov 05 for Outstanding Security Training Delivery. I was also Awarded Nationally by the BIIAB for Door Supervisor Training and reducing Conflict in Licensed Premises. I am responsible for the CPD of our Operational Security Staff, Tutors, Invigilators and Admin Staff.
I work closely with my team, shadowing managers, supervisors & tutors who have extensive operational but limited training experience helping coordinate their service delivery and assessing them for higher level security service delivery as well as Pttls/Cttls & Conflict Management Trainer Qualifications. This support is particularly important on CCTV due to the diverse nature of the Role and legal knowledge requirements of frontline staff. We have a full CCTV (PSS) Control room at CPUK's premises in Hindley which will soon have live remote monitoring capabilities. For my own CPD I also work operationally within the area of Close Protection and CCTV and have recently undertaken L4 H&S Management Training through CIEH. I have produced staff development programmes for Harcourt (shopping Centre retail Security - Ellesmere Centre), Chubb - CCTV (Nationally)Euro car parks (Town Centre CCTV Eccles) Peak Close Protection (Town Centre CCTV - Tameside ) and ISS Mediclean (Hospital & MOD Security Nationally) Strata, Mowlem Pall Mall, & Pegasus. I have also coordinated CCTV (PSS) on site, effective delivery assessments for these companies.
Neil Cash - Training Director: Leadership Development Centre Limited & Close Protection UK
Neil leads our Physical Intervention, Trainer Training & Security Search programs which is certified through Skills for Security and delivers search procedures for premises, persons, and open spaces to comply with Police National Occupational Standards.
Neil has over 22 years experience in the security industry and is an extremely competent and versatile Personal Protection & Training Director with extensive experience in Close Protection & Operational Management, Risk Assessment and Loss Prevention, with a thorough knowledge of Criminal and Employment Law. He also possesses a high level of Investigation skills gained whilst employed in a Loss Prevention role, working alongside experienced ex-Police colleagues, coupled with a good retail background within the industry. A dedicated professional who encompasses a strong ability to manage, motivate and work well with others. He is a friendly and confident personality and an excellent communicator. Enjoys a challenge and strives to achieve a high standard of service and commitment, at all times. Responsibilities for planning and execution of personal protection operations covering a wide variety of clients to include organizing and managing event security from the risk assessment stage through to delivering security on the ground,
As Area Profit Protection Manager for the cooperative, Neil had Responsibilities for Profit Protection and risk management & loss reduction of a region encompassing 80 retail outlets across the North West with Stock losses reduced and sustained at 0.18%, by sustaining delivery procedures and heightening the awareness of all staff involved in the process of delivery acceptance. Investigations carried out into internal and external thefts and company fraud, also worked closely with a major high street bank in the reduction of credit card frauds and cloned card usage. He was tasked with the development and implementation of initiatives to reduce leakage and security procedures, Analysis of data information and creating pattern analysis and trends for stock losses and time scales of losses.
As the Senior Security Manager for All sports he was Responsible for managing three regions, encompassing 130 High Street retail outlets and three multi million pound distribution centres, managing a team of two Security Investigators and three Auditors and over 20 static guards. By raising awareness in all areas of the business, by highlighting risk areas and offering cost effective solutions to all identified issues. Ensuring Security compliance of new sites during an expansion plan and recommending physical solutions for premises in high-risk locations. Analysis of data to identify trend patterns to deliver a more proactive function. Reporting directly to board level on all areas of Security and risk areas
Danny Sheehan - Operations Director: Close Protection UK
Danny has worked within the security industry for 15 years his back ground is completely corporate ranging from the implementation of taxi marshals and door supervisors within violent and anti - social behaviour hot spots within town centres with the help of the police and the local licensing authority, this scheme alone slashed violent crime by 60 % in these areas to the close protection of high profile music performers, celebrities & business people. The experience that Danny has gained from working alongside the emergency services, local councils, promoters/performers has put him as an individual and Close Protection UK as a company in a good position within the marketplace as he is able to use his past experience for the benefit of our company and customer alike. Having recently completed L4 H&S Management, Danny takes responsibility with colleagues for venue & event risk assessment, sop's & security management plans. A recent project included providing close protection and event management for The Falconry Festival 2009 which included working alongside British, Saudi and Dubai Royal Protection Teams for this High Profile Bi Annual event.
Dave Seddon - Trainer/ IV: Leadership Development Centre Limited
Dave has over 16 years experience in the security industry and is a senior trainer who has extensive knowledge and experience in many sectors within the security industry, his main focus in the company being CCTV, and Health & Safety having completed L4 H&S Management. Dave was Operations Director for Fire Sound & Security Ltd responsible for the day to day running for supplying CCTV Equipment and designing of compatible/integrated systems for CCTV, Access and Detection for installation, providing high standard of service and offering effective solutions to customers within high risk locations to help bring down levels of crime and disorder for business, schools, town centres etc. Since joining LDC, Dave has coordinated and managed the set-up and running of the CCTV training delivery and our operational remote monitoring centre and is now leading the training and assessments for the CCTV qualifications. Dave is also LDC's QA coordinator and internal verifier for all qualifications, he has had enormous impact on quality assurance for both areas of the business by developing QA procedures with colleagues and developing new training material from handbooks to presentations.
Craig Willetts - Marketing Manager: Leadership Development Centre Limited & Close Protection UK
Craig has been in retail & security management for 13 years dealing with all aspects from team building, staff mentoring, training, loss prevention, monitoring KPI's etc. Craig also has 11 years in the security industry as a door supervisor with experience in a wide range of disciplines from spectator safety to close protection. Craig was also Operations manager for Close Protection UK for 2 years before moving across to Sales & Marketing role for both LDC and CPUK after playing a key role in achieving SIA ACS status for Close Protection UK.
Matt Lund - Operations Manager: Close Protection UK
Matt has more than twenty years employment experience within Operational Management roles and twenty seven within the Security Industry. Matt's core responsibilities are staff rota's & payroll co-ordination, His background varies throughout the Security Industry managing the staffing of SIA Licensed operatives to Retail, corporate offices, licensed bars and night clubs, football stadiums, and music festivals and street carnivals. He also has vast experience in the organising and running of the security arrangements for the openings of new hotels within the Greater Manchester area and also the continuous events and VIP nights held. Matt has sound retail security knowledge including Risk Assessment and Security Consultation to the client.
Rachel Bowling - Credit Control/Completions Manager: Leadership Development Centre Limited
Rachel has worked for over 19 years in hospitality and the licensed retail industry and is centre QA contact for the BIIAB and Edexcel awarding bodies. Rachel has worked at LDC since it was founded in March 2003, she is responsible for tracking and completing all external paperwork for audit. She is also the main contact for credit control for LDC and CPUK. Rachel works alongside Dave Seddon and carries out internal verification for not only LDC but also for local college partners such as Salford City College, for whom we designed & ran their re-employability contract, Pendleton, & Hopwood Hall Colleges also Start Training based in Swinton.
Holly Carmichael - Personal Assistant: Leadership Development Centre Limited & Close Protection UK
Holly is Personal Assistant to the Managing Director and also Company Secretary dealing with financial and HR queries for both LDC and CPUK. She coordinates the timetables of tutors and the booking in of all courses with clients and colleges. Holly has extensive senior administration experience and has advanced computer skills and knowledge.
Gill Corless - Reception/Administrator: Leadership Development Centre Limited & Close Protection UK
Gill is the main receptionist for both companies and is the first point of contact for all queries; she also handles all sensitive information to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998. Gill processes all course and exam material and provides clients and other partners with reports and certificates on a weekly basis.
Andy Price - SIA - ACS Administrator: Close Protection UK
Andy is CPUK's ACS administrator attending to all sites to carry out inspections on processes to comply with the ACS and BSI - ISO standards, policies and procedures. He also carries out all screening and vetting for LDC, CPUK and external partners.
