BTEC Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training

Who needs this qualification?

In order to comply with the new SIA regulations all future door courses will require a physical intervention day. Anyone wishing to continue delivering these courses must be certified to deliver an approved programme.

Summary

delivery of underpinning knowledge and the principals of the course, the bulk of the course will be practical sessions with observations and internally/externally assessed and verified.

All candidates will be expected to attend in comfortable loose clothing and flat secure footwear, under no circumstances will you be allowed to take part in sandals or flip flops. Jewellery should not be worn during the training.

Maybo techniques are not dependant on strength or high levels of physical fitness but it is important that you understand there is an element of risk associated with participation in this physical activity.

Maybo has worked with, Skills for security and the BIIAB with LDC delivering end user programmes over a number of years in developing a simple, credible and safer approach to Physical Intervention.

The Maybo programme explores the medical implications related to each move for all involved, and is a safer none pain compliant way of dealing with incidents. Maybo also comes with backing from ACPO.

LDC are licensed to deliver The Maybo Trainer Training package which entitles us to also claim certification from Edexcel for the New Btec L3 Deliverers qualification.

You will also have access to LDC's Centre Facilities on successful completion of the course which will be advantageous where you do not work for or have not yet applied for approval to run the new Door Supervisors qualification from your centre's awarding body. This will benefit new tutors with mentoring style support and insurance costs for professional indemnity.
