Spectator Safety NVQ Level 3

Who needs this qualification?

The Level 3 NVQ in Spectator Safety aims to assess the competence of senior stewards and supervisors at spectator events. Candidates would be expected to demonstrate ability in preparing stewards and venues for spectator events, develop working relationships with colleagues and deal with spectator problems and emergencies

This qualification can be achieved by those working in more supervisory positions at sports events, concerts or carnivals where the safety of spectators is their key responsibillity. Candidates must be at least aged 18 or above to accomplish the full qualification. This qualification offers further progression and professional development and follows on from NVQ Level 2 in Spectator Safety.  In order to gain the NVQ qualification, candidates must complete four mandatory units together with two optional units from a choice of six.

Duration:

5 delivered days followed by work based assignments, portfolio building and work place assessments

Mandatory Units:

C212 - Prepare Stewards and venues for spectator events

C213 - Maintain stewarding in designated areas and deal with spectator problems and emergencies

C35 - Deal with accidents and emergencies

C324 - Develop productive working relationships with colleagues

Optional Units:

A21 - Support the efficient use of resources

A41 - Manage Information for Action

A323 - Manage your own resources and professional development

C33 - Work with others to improve customer service

C237 - Help to manage conflict

C238 - Control and detain people at a spectator event for action by the police
